Study on the Static Characteristics of Bump-type Gas Foil Thrust Bearing
This article focuses on the static characteristics of foil gas foil thrust bearings,providing theoretical basis and technical support for the design of foil thrust bearings.Based on the foil thrust bearing,a force deformation model was established for the wave foil and top foil,and the force deformation of the foil was studied and analyzed.The fluid structure coupling algorithm was used to solve the gas Reynolds equation,and the expression equation for the gas film thickness was obtained.Research has found that the thickness of foil has a significant impact on the static characteristics of bearings,especially on their bearing capacity.On this basis,the influence of different foil thicknesses,half length of wave arches,and radius of wave arches on the static characteristics of bearings was analyzed.The calculation results showed that the bearing capacity and friction torque were increasing functions with respect to foil thickness,and decreasing functions with respect to half length and radius of wave arches.
