Analysis on Characteristics and Key Factors of Algae Growth in Plain Reservoir
To study the water quality change and its impact on algae growth, reproduction and population structure in a plain reservoir,a plain reservoir in Shandong Province was taken as an example to comprehensively evaluate the water quality of the reservoir and summarize the key factors affecting algae growth in the reservoir through the analysis of water quality indexes, chlorophyll a content, algal population changes and nutrient status of the reservoir at different sampling points. The results show that the retention, sedimentation and enrichment of nutrients and other pollutants are easy to occur in the area where the river flows into the reservoir and the area where the water flow is slow, and there is a risk of exceeding the total nitrogen. All sampling sites show eutrophication or even severe eutrophication. The comprehensive nutrient state index and chlorophyll a content of water in river inlet and some narrow reservoir areas are higher.Algae in the water are mainly green algae and diatoms, and their growth and reproduction are significantly affected by total phos-phorus,which is a key control factor to prevent algal blooms.
