Education Development in Xinjiang Comprehensively Evaluated by Using Entropy Weight TOPSIS Method
To promote high-quality development of regional education,comprehensive evaluation indexes and a system of education development were selected and constructed from 3 dimensions of education scale,number of teaching staff,and student scale.Entropy weight TOPSIS method was used to conduct comprehensively evaluation and empirical analysis of education development level on panel data from 14 regions(prefectures,and cities)of Xinjiang from 2008 to 2018,and uneven phenomenon of the education development level in various regions of Xinjiang was explored according to results of the comprehensive evaluation.The results show that there are significant differences in the level of educational develop-ment among regions(prefectures,and cities)in Xinjiang,among which the ranking of educational development level in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture gradually improves,the ranking of Kashgar Region is always ahead,while the ranking of Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture is quite unsatisfied.Considering that education aid to Xinjiang has brought sig-nificant results to the education development in Xinjiang,further implementation of the policy of education aid to Xinjiang should take into account balanced development of regional education and rational allocation of educational resources.
