Abstract
This article discusses the architectural connotations of TAO's new project,the Clifftop Café and the Tower House on Jimin Island.First,the writing employs two metaphors,"the Keep"and"the Granite Palace,"to illustrate the architectural qualities of the two parts.It then looks at the strong contrast between verticality and horizontality in the project to highlight their particular philosophical positions.Calling the feat sublime,the article further analyses the essence of this philosophical position as a contemplation of the unique way human beings exist in the world.Finally,it points out that the project's geometrical language helps to reinforce this philosophical connotation and suggests that we should pay attention to the meaning of geometry rather than using it only as a computational tool.
