In 1928,the art and architecture critic Adolf Behne published a pamphlet entitled Eine Stunde Architektur(One Hour Architecture). The pamphlet paired a variety of images with short texts on opposite pages, aiming to quickly illustrate to the public a"new"and"good"way of living.By tracing the production and circulation of these images, this paper attempts to chart the accumulating and evolving tradition of architectural imagery in Europe, while revealing its historical, social, and individual dimensions concealed by the myth of modernism.
