Analysis of steel spiral chute detachment accidents in coal storage silos
Spiral chutes play a crucial role in preventing the fragmentation of lump coal in bunkers, yet accidents during their application are not rare. This paper analyzes the reasons behind the detachment of a steel spiral chute within a coal storage silo,on the basis of site investigation, through detections, finite element analysis and theoretical calculation. The results show that the improper load value is the direct cause of this accident, while the frame and chute structure selection and connection construction is not reasonable is the indirect cause. The chute bracket is suitable for polygonal frame structure, can also be added to the inter-frame support system; The structure should preferably utilize U-shaped or L-shaped chutes with a narrower base plate width; When calculating, the gravity of all stored materials within a pitch range projected by the chute bottom plate should be taken and the dynamic pressure during discharging should be considered; The calculation model of spiral chute should be calculated according to the space spiral curved beam, and the influence of torque should be fully considered.
