Specific cutting energy modeling and analysis of influencing factors by SLM forming parts
Selective laser melting(SLM)formed parts consume significant energy when improving surface quality through post-processing.However,optimizing the specific cutting energy could improve material removal rate and reduce cutting force, thereby redue energy consumption during the processing. Therefore, taking the SLM Inconel 718 formed parts as the research object,a cutting specific energy model based on cutting force was established.Combined with the orthogonal experiment of micro milling,an empirical formula for the specific cutting energy and milling parameters of SLM Inconel 718 micro milling was fitted, and the influence of different milling parameters on the specific cutting energy was studied. The results showed that the fitting degree of the SLM Inconel 718 specific cutting energy empirical formula was over 95%,and the cutting depth had little effect on the specific cutting energy. The specific cutting energy increased with the increase of spindle speed and feed rate per tooth.
