Crashworthiness analysis and parameters optimization of crush box with corrugated square tube
In order to improve the crashworthiness of vehicle crush box under axial impact,three kinds of crush boxes with corrugated square tube were designed by introducing corrugated structure into crush box with traditional square tube.The crashworthiness of the crush box with traditional square tube and the crush boxes with corrugated square tube were analyzed to obtain the influence of structural parameters on the energy absorption performance of the crush boxes with corrugated square tube.Then,the ripple amplitude,quantity,thickness and material of the crush box with all corrugated square tube were selected as design variables,and multi-objective optimization was carried out to maximize the specific energy absorption and minimize the peak crushing force.The results showed that the specific energy of the optimized the crush box with all corrugated square tube was increased by 168.1%and the peak crushing force was reduced by 85.5%compared with the crush box with traditional square tube and the optimization effect was remarkable.
