Failure detection of heavy-duty drive shaft based on encoder signals
Heavy load transmission shaft is widely used in ship lift, large ship power transmission and other fields, but due to the large torque transmission, and there is alternating torque in the process of mechanical reversing, resulting in heavy load transmission often fracture and other problems,so the failure detection of heavy load transmission shaft was of great significance in the safety of the guarantee and equipment. The traditional detection of heavy load drive shaft was carried out by stress and strain gauges. It was worth noting that the stress and strain detection could only detect the local failure of the shaft, but not the overall detection of the shaft.Firstly, this study compared the two detection methods of stress strain gauge and encoder in simulation analysis to showed the advantages of encoder signal in the overall failure detection of heavy load transmission shaft. Finally, the experimental analysis of ship lift transmission shaft proves the reliability of this method.
