Through the pot experiment,we used restricted irrigation in the seedling stage,and determined the phenotypic traits and physiological and biochemical indexes related to drought resistance,such as leaf relative water content,plant height,aboveground dry weight,root crown ratio,antioxidant enzyme activity of different maize varieties under drought stress with the 12 silage maize varieties as experimental materials.Firstly,we calculated the drought resistance coefficient of 10 indexes of each variety,then,evaluated the drought resistance of different varieties of silage corn at the seedling stage,and screened the silage maize varieties with strong drought resistance to provide material and theoretical basis for silage maize production in arid areas.The research results indicate under drought stress leaf,relative water content,plant height,stem diameter,above-ground dry weight and underground dry weight of 12 different silage maize varieties decreased,while peroxidase,superoxide dismutase,catalase,malondialdehyde and root-shoot ratio increased to varying degrees,there was a great difference in the decrease or increase of each index among varieties.The results of membership function analysis showed Zhengsiyu 2,Ningyu 688 and Heyu 36 had strong drought resistance with D values of 0.498,0.478 and 0.464 respectively.The results of principal component analysis combined with cluster analysis showed that Zhengsiyu 2,Heyu 36,and Datang 8 had strong drought resistance with Y values of 1.06,1.04,and 0.88,respectively.According to the above evaluation methods,zhengsiyu 2 and Heyu 36 are strong drought resistant varieties.
