Research Advances on XTH Family Genes in the Development and Stress Response of Plants
Xyloglucan endotransglucosylase/hydrolase(XTH)is one of the key enzymes involved in the remodeling of plant cell walls, capable of cutting and rejoining xyloglucans. The XTH gene family has been identified in many species and is found to be widely involved in the regulation of various life activities throughout the plant life cycle. Therefore, studying the XTH gene family is of significant importance for understanding plant growth and development. We reviewed the role of XTH family genes in plant growth and development, mainly including their involvement in the growth of roots, stems, and leaves, the opening and abscission of floral organs, and the ripening and softening of fruits;we also discussed the role of XTHs in responses to abiotic and biotic stresses, providing a reference for in-depth research into the functions and mechanisms of action of XTHs.
