In order to explore the effects of three kinds of feeds, fermented fungus chaff, fermented mushroom chaff and fermented sawdust,on the growth and development and nutritional components of the larvae of Trypoxylus dichotomus, and the effects of three kinds of feeds as substrates on egg production and hatching rate.Three kinds of feeds, fermented fungus chaff, fermented mushroom chaff and fermented sawdust, were used to feed the larvae of T.dichotomus at 27℃and feed humidity of 70%.The body weight, body length and survival rate of the third instar larvae and the content of basic nutrients in the larvae were measured respectively. After eclosion, three kinds of feeds were used as substrates for female oviposition experiments, and the effects of different substrates on female oviposition and egg hatching rate were analyzed. The correlation between feed nutrients and larval nutrition was determined and analyzed. The results showed that when the feeding environment conditions were the same, fermented T.dichotomus and fermented sawdust were more conducive to the growth and development of the larvae, but the nutrient content in the body was not significantly different from the other two feeds. When the deeply fermented T.dichotomus was used as the oviposition substrate, the oviposition amount and hatching rate of female adults were significantly higher than those of the other two feeds.Although the total protein content in the fermented mushroom bran can ensure the growth and development of the T.dichotomus, the content of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin is significantly lower than that of the other two feeds, and cannot replace the fermented sawdust for feeding.
