Influence of Shape Parameters on Hydraulic Characteristics of Trapezoidal Desilting Channel with Swirling Flow
To clarify the influence of the shape parameters of the swirling flow generator and the sediment transport pipe on the hydraulic characteristics of the trapezoidal desilting channel with swirling flow, the water abstraction ratio, air core shape, pressure and velocity were studied by model test and numerical simulation.Meanwhile, the hydraulic charac-teristics of the desilting channel with trapezoidal and rectangular sections were compared. The water abstraction ratio of the trapezoidal desilting channel can be reduced by increasing the inlet width of the swirling flow generator,or decreasing the outlet width and the height of the swirling flow generator,as well as the diameter of the sediment transport pipe. The outlet width of the desilting channel is the main factor affecting the water abstraction ratio. The small diameter of the sediment transport pipe will limit the air core development. The swirling flow,is more conducive to sediment movement in the sediment transport pipe, can be formed by increasing the height difference between the water surface of the channel and the outlet of the pipe. The trapezoidal desilting channel with swirling flow has higher water resource utilization effi-ciency.When the channel flow rate is 89.6 m3/h,the trapezoidal desilting channel is 6.6% lower than that of the rectan-gular channel, and the swirling flow velocity at the same position is larger. The results can provide reference for the de-sign and application of the desilting channel with swirling flow in water diversion engineering.
