Application of Saturated Solution Conductivity Method in Analyzing Water and Salt Transport Patterns in Coastal High Salinity Soil
The study on water and salt migration laws in soil is of great significance to improvement of the saline-al-kali land in reclamation area. How to achieve continuous measurement of water content and soluble salt concentration in high saline soil is the foundation to master the law of soil water and salt migration in coastal reclamation area. The heavy saline soil in the reclamation test area of Rudong Coastal area in Jiangsu Province was taken as the research object. The soil moisture-salt sensors with good salinity tolerance were used to continuously monitor the soil moisture and apparent e-lectrical conductivity. The soil saturated solution conductivity(ECsat),a salt equivalent index, was used to analyze the water and salt transport pattern in soil under rainfall and evaporation. The results show that it is feasible to use the ECsat to evaluate the maximum soluble salt content in high salinity environment. The heavy saline soil had significant seasonal variation. In winter, soil salt is maintained at a high level; In spring, the soil in each layer is desalted; In summer, the topsoil fluctuated sharply; While in autumn, the topsoil accumulated salt rapidly. In the process of evaporation and rain-fall,ECsat can effectively indicate the variation of soil salinity at different depths, the soil water and salt present the char-acteristics of"salt goes with water".
