Study on the Formation Rule of Spallation in Air of Falling Stream
The ski-jump energy dissipation is widely used in various hydraulic engineering practice because of its sim-ple structure and good efficiency. In this paper, through physical model test, the evolution process of free surface of fall-ing stream was analyzed by using image recognition and image post-processing technology, and the air spall characteristics of falling stream under different flow conditions were studied. The test results show that with the increase of the falling height, the transverse and longitudinal contour of the water strand moves outward gradually, and the diffusion width of the water strand increases along the way. With the increase of the thickness of the water strand and the outlet velocity, the deformation position of the water strand gradually moves upward, and the overall discontinuous transverse and longi-tudinal characteristic positions of the water strand also increase, but the influence of the outlet velocity is obviously grea-ter than that of the thickness of the water strand.
