Speed Control for Large Fluctuations in Bulb Turbine Units
A real-time control strategy is proposed to address the limitations of segmented shutdown of the regulating system in bulb tubular units during large fluctuations. This strategy involves adjusting the opening and switch direction of the guide vanes and blades in real time through changes in speed during the shutdown process,in order to control the unit speed in a reasonable state and meet regulatory requirements. This method has been applied to nearly a hundred tubular units in China and has been proven to be very reliable.Considering the various accidents and malfunctions caused by im-proper speed control strategies during large fluctuations in hydropower stations, this article is written to provide readers with insights.
