The Influence of Y-shaped Diversion Pier on Inflow Pattern in Side-intake Pumping Station
The lateral inflow to the pump station's forebay often leads to the formation of backflow or eddies, causing uneven distribution of the inflow flow pattern. To address the issues of lateral inflow deviation and excessive transverse flow velocity,we conducted a study on the position and geometric parameters of a Y-shaped diversion pier.Based on the orthogonal experimental design method,we constructed an orthogonal experimental table with 5 factors and 5 levels, and performed numerical simulations for each scheme. The uniformity of flow velocity was taken as the evaluation criterion for range analysis. The results showed that the position of the Y-shaped diversion pier had a greater impact on the inflow forebay than the geometric parameters. The optimal scheme parameters are determined, which A-A improved by 7.17%and the weighted average angle of transverse flow velocity increased by 2%.The flow pattern in the inflow forebay is sig-nificantly improved. In order to make the design of the Y-shaped diversion pier universally applicable, the parameters are dimensionless, providing a reference for the design of Y-shaped diversion piers in similar pump station projects.
