Relationship Between Rock-soil Body Structure and Excavation Deformation Failure in Quarry of Nalun Reservoir
During the construction of the Nalun Reservoir,a landslide occurred in quarry,which caused potential harm to the safety of the dam and the reservoir bank.Based on field geological investigation analysis,evaluation of survey data and monitoring data,the rock and soil structure and deformation failure mechanism of quarry of Nalun Reservoir were studied.The results show that the quarry slope is located at the Nalun syncline inside the south wing structure of the intraplate complex syncline,and the Nalun syncline structure controls the overall evolution of the slope.There are a large number of interlaminar shear zones in the slope rock mass of quarry of Nalun Reservoir.Under the action of late un-loading weathering,the interlaminar shear zones are partially muddy,forming a sliding surface of deformation and failure in the later stage,and the whole rock mass structure is composed of fully-strongly weathered bedrock and muddy interlay-er.The deformation and failure mechanism of the slope behind quarry of Nalun Reservoir is mainly caused by the disap-pearance of the anti-sliding force of the slow dip transition zone of the steep dip transition zone in the process of slope ex-cavation.The deformation failure mechanism of the west slope of quarry of Nalun Reservoir is mainly due to its position at the uplift end of the syncline structure,and the steep dip wings of the two wings slip to the steep empty surface under the action of gravity.
