Diversity of the Lycophytes and Ferns in Renhuai City,Guizhou Province
The species diversity,distribution pattern,ecological types,and flora of lycophytes and ferns in Renhuai,Guizhou were analyzed through field investigation and literature review.A total of 269 species were recorded,belonging to 67 genera and 26 families.This included 16 species of lycophytes in 6 genera and 2 families,and 253 species of ferns in 61 genera and 24 families.Among these,four families,12 genera and 134 species were reported from for the first time.The dominant families observed were Dryopteridaceae,Pteridaceae,and Polypodiaceae.The distribution of lycophytes and ferns in Renhuai was greatly affected by terrain factors,with more species found in the mountains and hills in the southeast,and fewer species in the valley slopes in the northwest.The vertical distribution of species showed an increase and then decrease with increasing altitude,with the highest number of species found in the altitude range of 900~1100 m,consistent with the"mid-domain effect".The ecological types of lycophytes and ferns in Renhuai were diverse,with soil types being the most common,followed by lithophytes and epiphytes,and vines and aquatic types being the least common.The flora of the genera shows that the lycophytes and ferns in Renhuai are dominated by tropical components.
