Benthic Macroinvertebrate Community Structure and Water Quality Evaluation of Renhuai's Major Rivers in Spring
Benthic animals are indispensable parts of aquatic ecosystems and important indicator taxa of water environment. In order to explore the community structure and water quality of macrobenthos of major rivers in Renhuai city,we carried out the present study in the main stream,8 major tributaries, and their affiliated reservoirs of the Chishui River in Renhuai city during the spring of 2023.The results showed that a total of 93 species of macrobenthos were collected, belonging to 4 phyla,7 classes,18 orders, and 58 families.Among them,17 species(18.28%)of mollusc,9 annelids(9.68%),65 species of aquatic insect(69.89%),one species of both crustacean and planaria(1.08%)were collected. The dominant species in this city were Polypedilum sp.,Corbicula fluminea,Chironomus sp.,and Tanytarsus sp.The biological evaluation of water quality of major rivers in Renhuai city was carried out using biodiversity index and benthic animal classification evaluation index. The results showed that the water quality was poor based on Shannon-Wiener index and Margalef index, while Pielou index indicated it was good.Biological pollution index were consistent with biological index, indicating it's water quality was deterioration to some extent as a whole.
