A thorough and detailed investigation was conducted on the natural environment,genetic resource diversity,species diversity,ecosystem diversity,landscape,and land use in Renhuai City,Guizhou,China.The findings revealed that the natural geographical environment of Renhuai City is unique.A total of 5515 native species were documented,including 2590 plant species,1262 animal species,and 1663 microorganism species.Additionally,one family,nine genera,and 116 plant species were recorded in Guizhou for the first time.Furthermore,21 national key protected plants and 26 national key protected animals were identified in Renhuai City.This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the biodiversity of Renhuai City and offers a systematic explanation of the distinctiveness of Maotai-flavor wine production in terms of the abiotic environment,microorganisms,and biodiversity.The results may offer valuable insights for the protection and utilization of biodiversity in Renhuai City and provide guidance for the development of the Maotai-flavor wine industry.
