Analysis on Current Situation and Countermeasures of Continuous Cropping of Highland Barley in Tibet
As the main source of food crops for Tibetan residents in China, highland barley by-product straw is also the source of fuel for local residents and feed for livestock,The planting area, yield and output value of highland barley from Tibet all rank first in China.Statistics in the past five years show that the average continuous cropping period of Tibetan highland barley is 3.27 years. Now,soil degradation caused by continuous cropping of highland barley has become a key problem restricting the sustainable and healthy development of highland barley industry in Tibet. In this paper,in view of the current situation of continuous cropping of highland barley in Tibet, the effects of continuous cropping of highland barley on soil physical and chemical properties, soil microbial community diversity and enzyme activity, and growth and yield of highland barley were analyzed in detail. The remediation measures of continuous cropping soil of highland barley were put forward from the aspects of variety selection, tillage measures, soil conservation and fertilizer selection. In order to establish a more reasonable planting pattern, maintain the balance of soil nutrient and the sustainable production capacity of farmland soil in Tibet,so as to provide theoretical support for the omni-directional guarantee the food security in Tibet.
