The Necessity and Feasibility of Continuously Promoting the Comprehensive Control Project of Rocky Desertification
The current rocky desertification of our country covers a vast area of 1 000.7 million hm2,and it is a significant ecological issue in karst regions.This area is home to 220 million people and is experiencing a severe conflict between human activities and the land,leading to underdevelopment.As a result,it is crucial to address the prevention and control of rocky desertification as a priority in our poverty alleviation efforts.This paper discussed the necessity and urgency of implementing a comprehensive control project for rocky desertification,emphasizing the national strategies for modernizing control systems and capacity,promoting land greening,and fostering high-quality and sustainable development of forests,grasslands,and vegetation.The paper also outlined the feasibility of continuously promoting the comprehensive control project,taking into account national policies,economic resources,mechanisms and systems,scientific and technological support,natural conditions,social support,and practical experience.It concluded that promoting the comprehensive control project aligns with national strategies and the needs of the people.
