Biomass Allocation and Growth Analysis of Pennisetum giganteum Single Cluster Members in Red Eroded Badland
By measuring the agronomic characteristics of Pennisetum giganteum in different planting patterns and different growth periods, the quantitative characteristics, coverage, growth rate, biomass allocation of single cluster and component were analyzed, and biomass model of P.giganteum were was predicted,so as to explore the feasibility of P.giganteum as a grass species for vegetation restoration in eroded inferior land of the red soil and its biomass model prediction. The results showed that P.giganteum could be used as a pioneer plant in the process of vegetation restoration in eroded inferior soil of red soil, and two-node flat-buried planting was more conducive to the biomass accumulation and coverage. It was feasible to predict the biomass of P.giganteum or component with easy measurement factors such as plant height, basal stem and coverage. This study can provide a reference basis for further research on the ecological plasticity of P.giganteum and the restoration of vegetation in erosive soil.
