Study on the Interaction Mechanism of Digital Economy,Foreign Direct Investment and Population Ageing:Based on Moderated Mediation Effect Analysis
Based on the era of accelerating population aging, this paper selects data from 31 provinces in China from 2008 to 2018,and constructs a moderated mediation effect model to explore the role mechanism of the digital economy's influence on foreign direct investment in the context of aging. It is found that the digital economy has different impact utility on foreign direct investment at different stages of development, and there is a U-shaped impact of inhibition in the early stage and promotion in the later stage.Population aging inhibits FDI through labor cost and savings rate, while digital economy can adjust labor cost and savings rate, thus weakening the negative impact of aging on FDI.Therefore,it is proposed to further promote the development of digital economy, improve digital supporting facilities and institutional construction, strengthen the important role of the digital economy in regulating labor costs and the savings rate of residents, attract foreign investment inflow, and contribute to the high-quality development of the economy.
