Construction Technology of Vertical and Horizontal Rail-change Operation of Gantry Cranes in Parallel Beam Storage Areas
Due to the installation of lifting gantry cranes and parallel tracks at intervals for the lifting operation of each beam storage area, two types of gantry cranes, longitudinal and transverse, are required to complete the transfer of finished beams from the prefabricated platform area to the beam storage area, resulting in high construction costs for one-time investment. This article uses horizontal tracks to connect adjacent parallel beam storage area tracks, adding a vertical cross track, and sharing one of the basic tracks between adjacent parallel beam storage areas. This enables adjacent beam storage areas to share a set of gantry cranes for lifting and moving operations, solving the construction problem of using gantry cranes for beam lifting in the beam yard in the past that could only move vertically but not horizontally. This technology utilizes a track changing gantry crane equipment and a cross track system to complete the lifting, storage, and unloading tasks in the beam storage area, effectively avoiding the cost risk caused by excessive investment in special equipment.
