The Impact of Multiple Aspiration Surplus and Environmental Uncertainty on R&D Internationalization
R&D internationalization is an important strategic decision for firms to seek technological breakthroughs and enhance innovation performance.Based on the data of listed firms in China's manufacturing industry from 2007 to 2021,the study explores the effects of profitability aspiration surplus and wealth aspiration surplus on R&D internationalization, and the moderating effect of environmental uncertainty. It is found that profitability aspiration surplus has a significant positive effect on R&D internationalization;wealth aspiration surplus has a significant negative effect on R&D internationalization.Strong environmental uncertainty plays a contributing role in the positive relationship between profitability aspiration surplus and R&D internationalization, but weakens the negative relationship between wealth aspiration surplus and R&D internationalization. The findings theoretically extend the application of performance feedback to multiple aspiration dimensions, strengthen the explanatory power of performance feedback theory for corporate decision-making,and are practically instructive for advancing research on R&D internationalization.
