Ding Jingtang,as a famous contemporary expert,editor and publisher in literature and history,was also a collector of books.A large number of books and periodicals on modern literature were collected by him.The followings were his thoughts of collecting books.First of all,collecting books is for use.He conducted research on the collection and published several important monographs based on the research results.Secondly,he also paid attention to the edition collection.Finally,he liked annotating on the books to record his thoughts while reading.All what he did benefits later readers and researchers.Discussions around his thoughts may enlighten our country's books collection.
