Practice and Thinking of Public Libraries to Organize and Participate in the International Dublin Literary Award
The International Dublin Literary Award is an international literary award nominated by public libraries around the world.Based on the investigation of Dublin City Library and UNESCO's"City of Literature"office and the practice of organizing and preparing the Award,the paper introduces the details and operation mode of the International Dublin Literary Award in order to introduce it to domestic libraries,including its founding history,prize setting,prize features,organization,judging panel,selection process and rules,etc.By summarizing the par-ticipation of Asian and domestic public libraries in the nomination of this award,the main reasons for the low aware-ness and participation of this award in China are pointed out.The paper analyzes the existing policies and summarizes the existing experience,and puts forward countermeasures to enhance the domestic participation from three aspects,aiming to enhance more domestic public libraries to participate in the nomination of the award,so that more Chinese books can be nominated by libraries around the world to enhance the world influence of Chinese libraries and Chinese literary books.
