The old site of Dongguan Museum Library and Ming Sheng Middle School Library are the two existing libraries of the Republic of China period in Dongguan,which are about one kilometer away from each other by walking.They were both created by social elite and social organizations,which represent the product of Dongguan people's sense of gratitude and public welfare.Among them,the practice of Dongguan Museum Library setting up the'Dongguan Literature Collection'reflected the fact that our public libraries had the professional idea of focusing on the preservation of local memory and the development of collection characteristics nearly a century ago.The old site of Dongguan Museum Library has been included in the list of Cultural Relic Protection Site in Guangdong Province,while the old site of t Ming Sheng Middle School Library has also become a Cultural Relic Protection Site in Dong-guan.How these two can be optimally revitalized and utilized is a realistic proposition for the local government,the libraries and museums sector to think about.
