The decarburized layer of small size round bar of S55C steel always exceeded the standard requirements due to the longer heating time and higher heating temperature in the production process.The problems were settled successfully after reducing the temperature of the first heating area,the second heating area,the uniform heating area and the heating time,shrinking the range of temperature variation,reducing the ratio of air/gas and increasing the furnace pressure etc.
