Clinical comparative analysis of the effect of pterygium excision combined with autologous conjunctival flap transplantation on ocular surface repair of different sizes of pterygium before and after surgery
Objective To study the effect of pterygium excision combined with conjunctival autograft transplantation on ocular surface repair in patients with different sizes of pterygium. Methods 80 patients with pterygium treated in our hospital from March 2021 to February 2024 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group(n=40)was treated with simple pterygium excision, and the observation group(n=40)was treated with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation on the basis of the control group.Compare the tear film rupture time(BUT),corneal refractive power, visual acuity level(UCVA),tear secretion test(SIT),corneal fluorescein staining score(FL),and ocular surface disease index score(OSDI)between two groups of patients before and after treatment;incidence of postoperative complications;postoperative recovery time(corneal epithelial healing time, discomfort duration, vision improvement time, hospitalization time);the ocular surface repair is effective. Results Before treatment, the BUT,corneal diopter,UCVA,SIT,FL and OSDI scores of the two groups were compared(P>0.05).After treatment, the above indexes of the patients in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was compared with that in the control group(P>0.05).The healing time of corneal epithelium, discomfort duration, vision improvement time and hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The effective rate of ocular surface repair in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Pterygium excision combined with conjunctival autograft transplantation can improve the effect of ocular surface repair for patients with different sizes of pterygium, which is safe and promotes the postoperative recovery of patients, and is worth popularizing.
