Evaluating the clinical efficacy of"Tiptoe"exercise on blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus based on continuous glucose monitoring system
Objective This study aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy of"Tiptoe"exercise on blood glucose and blood lipid management in patients with type 2 diabetes through a continuous blood glucose monitoring system(CGMS),in order to provide a simple and effective auxiliary means of hypoglycemia for diabetic patients. Methods This study included 240 patients with type 2 diabetes admitted to the Department of Endocrinology of Nanjing Pukou People's Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 as research subjects, and the patients were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group.Patients in the experimental group added daily"Tiptoe"exercise on the basis of conventional treatment, while the control group maintained conventional treatment. Both groups of patients wore CGMS to continuously monitor blood glucose changes to evaluate the differences in blood glucose and blood lipid levels before and after exercise intervention. Results After 12 weeks of"Tiptoe"exercise,BMI,TG,TC,LDL-C and glycated hemoglobin of the experimental group decreased significantly compared with the pre-intervention period(P<0.05).The results of CGMS showed that the average blood glucose level(MAG),the time in the target range of glucose(TIR)and the average fluctuation amplitude of glucose(MAGE)in the experimental group were all better than those before the intervention, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);compared with the control group,BMI,TG,TC,LDL-C,glycosylated hemoglobin,MAG,MAGE in the experimental group were significantly decreased(P<0.05),while TIR was significantly increased(P<0.05).Conclusion As a simple and easy-to-perform aerobic exercise,"Tiptoe"exercise has the obvious effect of assisting in lowering blood glucose and blood lipids in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This exercise can promote blood circulation in the lower limbs and increase the utilization of glucose, which can help to control the blood glucose level.Combined with the results of CGMS,it suggests that"Tiptoe"exercise is a recommended adjunctive therapy in the daily management of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
