Effect of evidence-based nursing on duration of symptoms, length of stay and occurrence of complications in children with pertussis
Objective To analyze the effect of evidence-based nursing on the duration of symptoms, length of hospital stay and the occurrence of complications in children with pertussis. Methods 64 children who received pertussis treatment in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as experimental subjects. The children were divided into different groups according to the order of admission.Among them,32 children who were admitted first and received routine care were selected as control group, and 32 children who were admitted later and received evidence-based care were selected as observation group. Results The duration of related symptoms and hospitalization in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the incidence of complications in the observation group was relatively lower, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in quality of life between the two groups before nursing,P>0.05;after nursing, the quality of life in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group,P<0.05.Conclusion The application of evidence-based nursing can help shorten the duration of related symptoms and hospitalization days, reduce the incidence of complications and improve the quality of life of children with pertussis, and the nursing effect is ideal and significant.
