The correlation between postoperative self-management behavior, self perceived burden, and disease uncertainty in glaucoma patients
Objective To explore the correlation between postoperative self-management behavior, self perceived burden, and disease uncertainty(UII)in glaucoma patients. Methods Ninety eight glaucoma patients who underwent surgical treatment in our hospital from January 2021 to January 2024 were selected. One week after surgery, the Disease Uncertainty Scale(MUIS-A)was used to assess the patients'UII,and the Self Management Behavior Scale(GSMQ)and Self Perceived Burden Scale(SPBS)were used to assess the patients'self-management behavior and self perceived burden. The self-management behavior(GSMQ)and self perceived burden(SPBS)of glaucoma patients with different UII levels were compared. The relationship between postoperative self-management behavior, self perceived burden, and UII was analyzed by bivariate Pearson linear correlation test. Results The total score of MUIS-A in 98 glaucoma patients one week after surgery was(80.24±10.39)points,with an ambiguity dimension score of(48.68±6.30)points and a complexity dimension score of(31.56±4.36)points;among them, there were 20 cases of low-level UII,51 cases of moderate level, and 27 cases of high-level UII;the GSMQ scores and total scores of glaucoma patients with high UII levels were lower than those of patients with moderate and low UII levels, while the SPBS scores and total scores were higher than those of patients with moderate and low UII levels(P<0.05);according to the bivariate Pearson linear correlation test, postoperative MUIS-A scores and total scores in glaucoma patients were negatively correlated with GSMQ scores and total scores in all dimensions(r<0,P<0.05),and positively correlated with SPBS scores and total scores in all dimensions(r>0,P<0.05).Conclusion Postoperative self-management behavior and self perceived burden in glaucoma patients are related to UII.In the future, clinical practice should actively carry out self-management,psychological intervention, family support, etc.,in order to reduce the level of UII in patients.
