Analysis of the grading of thyroid nodules and factors affecting them in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)
Objective To analyse the grading situation of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with thyroid nodules(TNS)in elderly patients and its influencing factors. Methods The basic data of 206 elderly patients with T2DM combined with TNS admitted to our hospital from August 2023 to June 2024 were retrospectively analysed.Based on the results of imaging examinations and TNS grading criteria, the 206 elderly patients with T2DM combined with TNS were divided into the T1 group(n=71),T2 group(n=46),T3 group(n=66),and T4 group(n=23).The differences in general data and serological indexes between the four groups were compared, and the influencing factors of TNS grade in elderly patients with T2DM were analyzed. Results Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in BMI index, course of T2DM,TC,LDL-C,FINS,and HOMA-IR levels among the four groups(P<0.05).The TC level of the T4 group was higher than that of the T1,T2 and T3 groups(P<0.05),and the course of T2DM,HOMA-IR,FINS of the T3 and T4 groups were higher than those of the T1 group(P<0.05),the LDL-C levels of the T4 group were higher than those of T1 and T2 groups(P<0.05),and the BMI of the T4 group was higher than that of the T1 group(P<0.05).The results of Logistic regression model analysis showed that the duration of diabetes mellitus and TC level were independent influencing factors for TNS grade in elderly patients with T2DM.Conclusion The duration of diabetes mellitus and TC level are independent influencing factors for TNS grade in elderly patients with T2DM,and the longer the duration of diabetes, the higher the TC level, and the higher the risk of TNS grade.
