Intensive nutrition of recombinant human growth hormone and glutamine in elderly patients with sepsis
Objective To investigate the effect of recombinant human growth hormone combined with glutamine fortified nutritional intervention on elderly patients with sepsis. Methods A total of 120 elderly patients with sepsis admitted to the intensive care unit from February 2022 to March 2024 in our hospital were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 60 patients in each group. The control group was treated with standard nutritional support, and the observation group was treated with recombinant human growth hormone combined with glutamine.Compared two groups of patients'nutrition, immune, acute or chronic health evaluation, organ function,ICU stay time, antibiotic use time and complications. Results Observation group serum ALB and PAB is higher than the control group,P<0.05;IgG,IgM,CD4/CD8 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and CRP was lower than that in the control group,P<0.05.The APACHE Ⅱ and SOFA scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the ICU stay time and antibiotic use time were shorter than those of the control group,P<0.05.The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,P<0.05.Conclusions Intensive nutritional therapy with recombinant human growth hormone and glutamine can significantly improve the clinical prognosis of elderly patients with sepsis.By promoting protein synthesis, enhance immune function, maintain the intestinal barrier function, reduce inflammation, can improve the nutritional status of the patients and organ function, reduce the incidence of complications, worthy of application.
