Clinical characteristics and influencing factors of 239 children with pertussis
Objective To investigate the clinical features and influencing factors of pertussis in children.Methods The clinical data and epidemiological characteristics of 239 children with pertussis diagnosed in Jiangxi Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital(Jiangxi Children's Medical Center)from June 2023 to May 2024 were retrospectively analyzed,and the related parameters of blood routine of children with pertussis at different ages and different immune status were compared.Results ①Among the 239 children,129 were male and 110 were female.The median age of the children was 18(4,60)months,39 cases(16.32%)were less than 3 months old,70 cases(29.29%)were 3-12 months old,32 cases(13.39%)were 12-36 months old,and 98 cases(41.00%)were more than 36 months old.②57 cases(23.85%)had a history of exposure,146 cases(61.09%)were fully immunized,51 cases(21.34%)were partially immunized,and 42 cases(17.57%)were unimmunized.③The median duration of cough before admission was 12(7,18)days,of which 125 cases(52.30%)were less than 14 days,74 cases(30.96%)were 14-30 days,and 40 cases(16.74%)were more than 30 days.Lung audible,and then the sound or wheezing 88 cases(36.82%).④There was no significant difference in WBC among different age groups(P>0.05).The L and PLT of≤3 months old group were significantly higher than those of other age groups,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The WBC,L,PLT completely immune group were lower than part of the immune and immune group,difference has statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Children≤12 months and>36 months susceptible to pertussis,needs to explore pertussis vaccination strategies,whooping cough to atypical clinical symptoms and early complete routine blood and whooping cough nucleic acid testing for the early diagnosis of pertussis.
