Discussion on the clinical efficacy and mechanism of Qingchang Huashi in the treatment of ulcerative colitis based on the theory of"dampness and heat causing disease"
Based on the theoretical connotation of"dampness and heat causing disease",it is believed that the accumu-lation of dampness and heat in the intestine,which leads to heat accumulation and polyp decay,as well as qi and blood blockage,is the key to the formation of ulcerative colitis(UC).Traditional Chinese medicine believes that UC is locate in the intestine,characterized by dampness and heat.The main syndrome is dampness and heat in the large intestine,and the treat-ment principle is to clear and benefit the large intestine.In clinical application,the Qingchang Huashi Compound has a sig-nificant therapeutic effect on UC,can significantly improve patient symptoms,and has high safety and minimal adverse reac-tions.Modern pharmacological research has found that clearing the intestines and removing dampness can exert therapeutic effects by regulating intestinal microbiota,repairing intestinal mucosal barrier,maintaining intestinal immune balance,reduc-ing intestinal inflammation,and alleviating oxidative stress.The author has systematically summarized and analyzed the re-search results and mechanism of Qingchang Huashi Compound in the treatment of UC in recent years by organizing litera-ture,and proposed suggestions for the shortcomings.The aim is to provide scientific basis for explaining the scientific conno-tation of Qingchang Huashi Compound in the treatment of UC,and to provide reference for evaluating and exploring the po-tential of classical Chinese medicine and its compound formulas in the treatment of UC.
