Efficacy mining and zebrafish experiment verification of efficacy of Wuzi Yanzong Pill
Objective To study the association between drugs and diseases and to explore the potential indications of Wuzi Yanzong Pill by using zebrafish model.Methods The active ingredients and targets of Wuzi Yanzong Pill were col-lected,and the research direction was determined by tissue specificity and drug-disease pathway association analysis.In vivo experiments were conducted based on model biological zebrafish.Results 1 441 targets related to Wuzi Yanzong Pill were collected.The target sites may be related to nervous system,reproduction,metabolism,cancer,kidney function,etc.The corre-lation analysis of drug-disease pathway indicated that Alzheimer's disease and diabetes were potential research directions for Wuzi Yanzong Pill.The hypoglycemic efficacy test of zebrafish showed that Wuzi Yanzong Pill could reduce the glucose level of zebrafish and improve diabetic neuropathy.Efficacy test for prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease showed that Wuzi Yanzong Pill can improve the reaction ability of zebrafish and restore motor dysfunction,which may be related to the inhibition of acetylcholin esterase activity.Conclusion Combining the computational secondary development methods with the zebrafish activity experiment,it is found that Wuzi Yanzong Pill has certain therapeutic effect on diabetes and Alzheimer's disease,which provides reference for the secondary development of Wuzi Yanzong Pill.
