Fourfold evidence method for traditional Chinese medicine processing research
The traditional research method of herbal literature mainly focuses on textual research of the Qianjia School,which is a scholarly approach to collating,collating,annotating,and compiling lost texts from ancient books.In recent years,Academician Huang Luqi has applied the twofold evidence method to the research of herbal literature,advocating herbal archaeology,which is based on the research method of textual research of herbal literature and further corrects and supplements the errors,limitations,and omissions of historical literature based on unearthed cultural relics.Based on the specificity of processing literature research,the authors propose to combine field investigation and the restoration of ancient processing methods on the basis of the twofold evidence method,which is called the fourfold evidence method for traditional Chinese medicine processing research,with the core content being the restoration of ancient methods.This method aimed to address issues such as the authenticity of processing techniques recorded in the literature,the comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of different processing techniques for the same drug in ancient books,difficult problems in ancient processing literature,and problems in modern Chinese medicine processing techniques.It also provides new ideas for the development of new drugs and cites a large number of practical examples.
