Research progress in the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease based on the long chain fatty acids and related metabolic enzymes
Long-chain fatty acids(LCFA)are defined as fatty acids with 12~20 carbons.LCFA are the most abundant type of fatty acids in diet.LCFA are involved in maintaining the normal structure and basic function of cell membranes, which play an important role in energy metabolism of the organism, glucose and lipid metabolism, and inflammatory response. In hepatocytes,an overload of LCFA can induce liver injury in various ways such as inflammation, oxidative stress, fibrosis, autophagy, and apoptosis. This article reviewd the research progress of treating non-alcoholic fatty disease based on long chain fatty acids and related metabolic enzymes, providing new ideas and strategies for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
