Study on Stability of Deep Excavation Supported by Row Piles with Surcharge
To conduct in-depth research on the impact of temporary loads such as surcharge on the stability of deep excavation, this paper uses the finite element software ABAQUS and takes a deep excavation in Chengdu as the engineering background to study the impact of surcharge size and action location on the deformation and stability of the foundation excavation. The research results indicate that the presence of surcharge can increase the horizontal displacement of the crown beam, and this effect increases sharply as the position of surcharge approaches the edge of the foundation excavation. The presence of surcharge reduces the safety factor of the foundation excavation. For the same size of surcharge, the greater the decrease in safety factor as the surcharge position approaches the edge of the foundation excavation. The surcharge has a significant impact on the failure mode of the foundation excavation. In the sensitive area of the stacking load, the failure slip surface transitions from linear to y-shaped with the increase of the applied distance, and from overall sliding failure to overall sliding local shear coupling failure mode. The surcharge causes negative frictional resistance around the pile, increasing the risk of instability of the foundation excavation. The treatment method of surcharge problem follows the principle of fast and safe, and the load is quickly unloaded under the premise of improving the safety factor.
