Application of Composite Damping Retrofitting Technology of School Building
By using traditional retrofitting plan,BRB retrofitting plan,VFD retrofitting plan and BRB+VFD composite damping retrofitting plan for a school building,linear time-history analysis under frequent earthquakes and non-linear time history analysis under rare earthquakes were operated.The inter-story drift angle,floor shear force,additional damping ratio were compared and analyzed.The research results show that under frequent earthquakes,BRB provides stiffness in the BRB+VFD composite damping retrofitting plan,solving the problem of first weak story,while VFD provides additional damping to reduce earthquake action,thereby reducing the amount of structure component reinforcement.Under rare earthquakes,the BRB+VFD composite damping retrofitting plan has a more uniform inter-story drift angle,fully dissipatting energy overall,and causes less overall damage,meeting the requirements of damage control and resilient structure.Taking all factors into consideration,the BRB+VFD composite damping retrofitting plan is the optimal solution.
