Technical and Managerial Requirements for BIM Technology Towards Connecting Application Through Lifecycle
When building information modeling technology(BIM)was proposed, there was an"initial intention",i.e.,the technology supports the connecting application in the lifecycle of facilities, spanning the phases of planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance.Nowadays,20 years have passed since then, although the technology has been applied in a large number of projects, the"initial intention"has rarely been realized in the projects, and it seems that the development of BIM application has run into a bottle neck.Based on the author's research and practice, this paper suggests that the key to break the bottle neck is to implement the connecting application in the lifecycle of facilities.Hence, the corresponding requirements are analyzed, including those on relevant technical standards, application software, and management standards, and the feasibility is also examined. This paper contributes to the further development of the application for BIM technology in our country.
