The climatic characteristics of fog in Linqing were statistically analyzed using the meteorological data observed at Linqing weather station from 1981 to 2010. The results indicated that an obvious decreasing trend of annual foggy days was found in recent 30 years in Linqing. The frequency of fog in autumn and winter was relatively higher than that in spring and summer. The foggy days mainly appeared from October to the next February, accounting for 76.2% of the annual foggy days. The heavy fog usually occurred in night, which contributed 89. 1%, and dissipated mainly at 9 am to 10 am. The visibility and disaster defense of fog were also analyzed in this paper.
