Multivariate Statistical Analysis for Growth Traits of 6-Month-Old Luzhong Meat Sheep
In order to explore the relationships among body size and body weight traits of Luzhong meat sheep, the body size and weight traits of 1 094 6-month-old Luzhong meat sheep, including 325 rams and 769 ewes, were measured in this study, and the correlation analysis, principal component analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were conducted. The results showed that the body size traits of rams and ewes were significantly positively correlated with body weight, and there were also significant positive correlations be-tween body size traits.According to the standard of cumulative contribution rate above 85%,the first three principal components were selected for the rams, which reflected the overall body structure of 6-month-old Luzhong meat rams, the development of chest and the development of limbs, respectively;the first two princi-pal components were selected for ewes, which reflected the overall body size of 6-month-old Luzhong sheep e-wes and the development of limbs, respectively. The best regression equations of body weight for 6-month-old Luzhong meat sheep rams and ewes were Y=0.268X2+2.448X4+1.319X5-60.459(R2=0.776,P<0.01)and Y=0.070X1+0.166X2+0.819X3+1.599X4-2.547X5-17.237(R2 =0.919,P<0.01)respectively,and those after standardization were Y=0.328X2+0.552X4+0.156X5 and Y=0.176X1+0.274X2+0.237X3+0.450X4-0.235X5,respectively.These results could provide theoretical bases for early selection and breeding of Luzhong meat sheep,so as to improve breeding efficiency.
