Effects of Quorum Sensing Molecule N-3-Oxododecanoyl-L-Homoserine Lactone(3OC12HSL)on Growth,Blood and Gut of Mice
This study aimed to investigate the effects of quorum sensing molecule N-3-oxododecanoyl-L-homoserine lactone(3OC12HSL)on growth, inflammatory factors and intestinal mucosal barrier of mice. The mice diarrhea model was established by intragastric administration of high dose lincomycin hydrochloride solu-tion.Normal and diarrhea mice were administrated intragastrically with normal saline, dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO)or 3OC12HSL dissolved in DMSO,respectively. The results showed that intragastric administration of 3OC12HSL decreased weight gain of normal and diarrhea mice, increased serum D-lactate and TNF-α con-centrations,and decreased the length of large intestine and the villus length of jejunum and ileum(P<0.05).Diarrhea increased IL-1,IL-8 and TNF-α concentrations in serum, decreased the villus length of jejunum and ileum(P<0.05).3OC12HSL and diarrhea showed synergistically decreasing trend on the ratio of ileal villus length to crypt depth(P>0.05).In summary,3OC12HSL was not benefit to mice growth, and the influence might be exacerbated by diarrhea.
