Effects of Water Retention Agent Combined with Nitrogen Fertilizer on Physical and Chemical Properties of Drought Resistance in Cigar Tobacco
In order to explore the effects of water retention agent combined with nitrogen fertilizer on drought resistance of cigar tobacco in different periods, the pot experiment was conducted variety Dexue 1 as test material. The effects of different dosages of water retention agent and nitrogen fertilizer on the physical and chemical indexes related to drought resistance of cigar tobacco were studied under drought conditions, and the correlation analysis, principal component analysis and subordinate function analysis were carried out.The re-sults showed that compared with the control(CK),the applicaton of water retention agent combined with nitro-gen fertilizer increased the chlorophyll content in cigar tobacco leaves, ensuring the normal synthesis and deg-radation of chlorophyll;significantly increased activities of SOD,POD and CAT and decreased MDA content in leaves, reducing the generation of peroxides and slowing down the damage of membrane lipid peroxidation;increased the contents of proline, soluble protein and soluble sugar significantly in leaves, promoting the accu-mulation of osmoregulatory substances and enhancing water regulation capability. The best effect occurred when the use rate of water retention agent and nitrogen fertilizer were 4 and 4.29 g per plant respectively(treatment A1B2),which could significantly enhance drought resistance of Dexue 1.This experiment could provide theo-retical bases and references for cultivating high-quality cigar tobacco in arid areas with poor soil water and fer-tilizer retention.
