Effects of Chaetomium globosum ND35 on Growth and Physiological Characteristics of Pepper Seedlings under Salt Stress
In order to provide technical basis for the application of Chaetomium globosum ND35 in pro-duction of vegetables in saline-alkali soil, pepper seedlings were used as materials in the test, and the effects of inoculation with endophytic fungus C.globosum ND35 on growth and physiological characteristics of pepper seedlings under salt stress were studied by irrigating different salt solution(0,50,100 and 150 mmol·L-1 NaCl)to simulate salt stress. The results showed that under salt stress, inoculation with C.globosum ND35 could improve the fresh weight above and under ground as well root-shoot ratio of pepper seedlings compared with the control(CK)without inoculation.Under stress of 0,50,100 and 150 mmol·L-1 NaCl,the soluble protein content in leaves inoculated with C.globosum ND35 increased by 16.05%,9.11%,17.51%and 6.38%,respectively compared with CK;the malondialdehyde(MDA)and proline(Pro)contents decreased by 15.59%,6.68%,13.68%and 18.02%,and 26.93%,36.48%,33.28%and 50.80%,respectively;the activities of antioxidant enzymes(CAT,POD,SOD)were higher than that of CK,and the SOD activity in-creased by 126.86%when the NaCl concentration was 150 mmol·L-1.In conclusion, inoculation with the en-dophytic fungus C.globosum ND35 could enhance tolerance of pepper seedlings under salt stress and protect their healthy growth.
